Butte College’s 2020 graduates will be able to view a virtual commencement set for June 19. Additionally, all 2020 graduates will have the opportunity to participate in the commencement in May of 2021 to walk with peers in person.
“Our 2020 graduates deserve recognition and celebration. We are unable to hold a traditional commencement ceremony this year due to the Coronavirus pandemic. After surveying graduates and graduate candidates, we have decided to offer two opportunities for our graduates to celebrate,” said Samia Yaqub, Butte College President.
Butte College is partnering with MarchingOrder to deliver a virtual commencement ceremony for graduates, family, and friends to enjoy and celebrate on June 19. All Butte College graduates are urged to check their student email account with information to register for the virtual commencement ceremony and create a personalized commencement slide. Graduates are encouraged to upload a photo and a personal comment prior to that date. The slide will list degree(s) earned and your name will be read by professional name announcers.All graduates and graduate candidates who register to participate in the virtual Commencement ceremony will be provided a link to the ceremony. The ceremony is not live, but the link to the ceremony will be made active at approximately 6:30 p.m. on June 19. You can choose to celebrate at that time with family and friends or view at any time after the link to the ceremony becomes active.
